For instance, we want to make sure that our scores and parts are equally as good to perform from as to study. We want to stay true to the composer's intentions when they first composed the work. We want to make sure that we are using technology to its fullest - that means making our scores and parts in PDF format for display on technological devices such as iPads and iPhones. We want to get a sense of the circumstances and culture at the time when the piece was composed. All of this plays into our research, notation and design process.

We start by researching original manuscripts, as well as later editions produced by copyists. We try and create an initial Urtext version of the score, making crucial decisions based on historical information. We then use the latest industry-standard technology to actually notate the score and parts, as well as using recent advancements in artificial intelligence to augment our understanding of the work.

After this, we do several rounds of edits and design to make sure our scores and parts are visually stunning as well as suitable for performance.
